• the legend •

Little is known about ed wicks except that around 1967 he was probably 27 years old
and had every sexual fetish known. His notes were found in the rafters of our house
and provide endless fascination, disgust and inspiration to our band; ed wicks.

• the band •

Formed in late 2005, in San Francisco, it was really just four friends that thought
it would be fun to play some music together. Collectively, the four members had
played in over a dozen bands, touring and recording, with varying degrees of success.
Initially intended purely as recreation, the obligatory attempt at learning cover
songs fell flat but the creation of original music came easy. The synergy of styles
and personalities delivered a true collaboration in arrangement, lyrics and music.

jamie hartman (vocals)

blessed with a beautiful voice, jamie is creating her own sound, reflecting a range of
strong female vocalist influences from Chrissie Hynde and Dolores O'Riordan to Karen O.

mike hryciw (guitar)

having spent his formative music years in portland during the peak of what was later dubbed
the alternative, or grunge movement, mike was inspired by local talent, as well as the musical
genious of sonic youth, the pixies and jimi hendrix. his own style radiates through with solid
rythyms and unique melodies.

alan crarer (bass)

introduced to music through piano and classical guitar, alan was later pulled in the direction
of rush and led zeppelin and inspired by the powerful imagery of tragically hip's music and
songwriting. during the formation of ed wicks he picked up the bass and finally found his niche.

rafael lago (drums)

as much a fan of music as a purveyor. rafi's experience reaches across a wide spectrum of
styles and genres. his love for music is apparent when he plays, and if you can't feel it
you can surely see it.
